Our Story

WestNet Tax Accounting has its roots in the mid-1980s when it was founded by Nettie Burton. Nettie was originally from the Netherlands and worked in other industries before coming to accounting and starting her own accountancy business.

Liz West joined as Nettie’s startup company began to grow, with the two women working together for many years before becoming business partners at the foundation of WestNet Tax Accounting. The company name is a combination of the two businesswomen's names Nettie Burton and Liz West. The inclusion of the "West" element of the business name has the added benefit of highlighting its west-based location.

Today, our small but experienced team services individual clients and businesses from a wide range of industries. Our team comes from diverse backgrounds from qualified accountants with extensive accountancy experience to business leaders and professionals from other sectors. This enables our team to bring to our clients a broad range of experience across different aspects of business.

We also run WestNet Tax Accounting as a family business. This philosophy is important as our core values stem from this approach - strong focus on our clients and delivering excellent customer service; deep roots in our local community and a commitment to serve; supportive work environment based on teamwork and continuous professional development.
