Our Office Renovation

Our WestNet Tax Accounting office had the same design for the past 18 years, so we knew it was time for a change of scenery. The old office layout and design had butter-yellow walls that were very out of date, leaky windows and a deteriorating carpet.

We began planning our renovation with the goal of modernising our office with an updated look, a contemporary colour palette and a new logo. This renovation was started over the Christmas break of 2022, and it was completed by early February 2023 after many weeks of difficult yet rewarding work.

The renovation process required the complete removal of everything from the office. All of our furniture was safely stored away in two storage boxes, which were securely held off-site while changes to our office were made. We accomplished the following during our extensive renovation:

• Removing And Replacing Our Old Carpet. We removed our old, worn-out carpet and replaced it with beautiful new blue carpet tiles. Our old carpet had begun to fall apart, so the clean new carpet tiles were a significant upgrade. The deep, calm blue suits our new look perfectly, and it was chosen to match our new WestNet Tax Accounting logo. Our new logo can be seen around our improved office, so the blue of the carpet really complements it against the colour of our walls.
  
  
  
  
  
  
• A New Paint Job. The outdated butter-yellow walls were painted over with a gorgeous off-white colour to make them brighter and more visually appealing, with a wonderful tan feature wall in the front office. The light-coloured walls really give our office an open, spacious and inviting feeling.
  
  
• Shifting Around Old Furniture To Make The Front Entrance More Welcoming. We moved one of our desks out of the entrance, leaving only the reception desk, to make the space more spacious and inviting. Additionally, we’ve added new accessories that will surely make our office more comfortable for our guests. Among these are a coat rack and an umbrella stand, designed to offer convenience to guests upon their arrival.
  
  
• A Front Fascia Sign With Our New Logo. Our storefront now has a new eye-catching fascia sign that proudly displays our new logo and our company name. It also displays the fact that we’re gold partners with Xero. This bold sign is clean and easy to see, making our storefront very identifiable.
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Frosting, Logos And Cutouts On Our Windows And Front Door. Previously, our windows were covered with curtains for privacy. Now, they’ve been frosted and display our new logo and office hours. The frosting on our windows and door gives our space a sophisticated appeal while still maintaining our privacy and letting natural light into our office. Gorgeous natural light helps to make our space more open and inviting, and goes well with our new off-white walls.
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Transforming Our Old Cupboard Into A Workspace. Our old cupboard, which was previously used for storing files, was removed and fully replaced with a brand-new workstation so that we can have more space to help people just like you. This new space can be closed when not in use, neatly hiding the area away when clients come in for meetings.
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Replacing Our Small Round Table With A Media Centre Desk. We used to have our meetings on our small round table, but this table has now been replaced with a high-quality media centre desk. This media centre is much more high-tech than our previous round table and will give us more space to spread out and work together. With a better place for meetings, we know we’ll enhance our collaboration and be even more productive.
